Top 10 photogenic Instagram spots Amsterdam

I put together some of my favorite spots from Amsterdam. What I am always looking for when traveling is: Photogenic places for my photography, healthy food and good coffee. This is what I came up with! All these places have gluten-free options and are beautiful locations to visit while strolling through the city. Take a look at the map I put together for you at the end of the blogpost to see which places are close to one another (feel free to download).

  1. Damrak

Close to the main station you can find this beautiful little waterfront close to the canal with the typical little houses. It is definitely worth taking a few Amersterdam-ish shots down here.

  1. Coffee & Coconuts

I don’t know about you but I am planing my city trips around the cutest coffee shops in town and while doing so I am exploring the city as I go. I’ve found it to be fulfilling to have a little coffee and journaling session at the end of my destinations and this one has been my favorite so far. It can become a bit crowded on the weekends but coffee& coconuts is worth a visit and sip from their delicious coffee drinks which are-you guessed it- based around coconut milk. The building is an old church that has been transformed into a huge coffee house with several people cowering or meeting up for breakfast and coffee. Definitely give this a try.

2. Bar Botanique

Bar Botanique was the most gorgeous bar with incredibly bright and esthetically pleasing colors. It reminds of a slightly more tropical Wes Anderson movie and is just the best place to go for drinks. If you are looking for some great photogenic spots, this is definitely it! Also the drinks are delicious.

3. Cafe Panache (dinner)

This is the one spot I had troubles taking picture because I was so busy enjoying the evening. Cafe Panache is more on the fancy-date-night side but the kind where you are still in a turbulent chic bar kind of atmosphere. I was never the one enjoying a sit-down-session at silent overpriced restaurants- If my idea of special evenings would be transformed into reality- Panache would be it. It is a very social spot where you can chat the night away while sipping your glas of wine.

4. SLA (lunch & coffee)

Here is the place for a healthy snack, lunch or a nice coffee break between plants and some Pinterest ready cute decor. SLA offers healthy lunch bowls with gluten free options that are truly delicious!

5. thrift shopping

Amsterdam does have some valuable thrift stores. I visited quite a few but Marbles Vintage, Kiloshop de Pijp or Penny Lane Vintage had the nicest selections of vintage clothing.

6. Streets around Paleis op de Dam

It’s no secret that strolling around Amsterdams canals and streets quickly reveals some pretty romantic places and corners. While doing so you can walk by the area of Paleis op de Dam which was originally built as a city hall during the dutch golden age in the 17th century.

It is a nice place to look at and shows off some greater parts of the unique architecture you can find popping up throughout the city.

7. Canals

Something you will not be able to escape from are the canals which are flooding the Amsterdam scenery. I had a wonderful time just sitting by the canals on a warm summer night and enjoying a good talk.

8. Parks

Amsterdam is showing off some impressive green spots, inviting you to rest and relax while exploring the city. The Vondelpark was definitely a favorite with many different areas throughout the big park.

8. Back to black
